Let’s decipher some metaphors

Mandala 9; Hymn 62

To Soma pavamâna
Rishi: jamadagni bhārgava
Meters: gāyatrī; nicṛdgāyatrī; virāḍgāyatrī; kakummatīgāyatrī; pipīlikāmadhyāgāyatrī

The hymns of the Rig Veda were rarely recited or sung in full. Shlokas (verses) were used singly or in pairs throughout the sacrifice. In the case of the five-day Agnistoma, these isolated shlokas were repeated for long periods.

We will study and decipher some of them taken at random, which will allow us to better understand the purpose of the sacrifice, and possibly, will teach us a little history of this civilization.

4 – The effective fiber, coming from the mountains, was pressed for intoxication, in the waters. He sat on the womb, like an eagle.
5 – The juice of the radiant plant, pleasing to the gods, was pressed into the waters by men. The Cows feasted on the juices.
6 – They stimulated, like a Horse striving for immortality, the sweetness of the juice to drink it together.

The ninth mandala is entirely devoted to the deified soma. It was he who completed the penultimate compilation of hymns, until the drought of 2200 BCE. Soma, which was the juice of a plant without leaves, seeds, flowers, or fruit and whose description is « fiber, filament, » was most likely the Indian variety of psilocybe cubensis, which contains psilocybin. Psilocybin is a molecule of the tryptamine family, and almost the same as the one we naturally produce in our pineal gland (epiphysis), which we activate through natural methods such as yoga, pranayama, meditation, etc.

    Explanations of the three shlokas:

4 – The fiber, the soma plant, the psilocybe, was pressed to expand its consciousness as the Indian definition sat-cit-ananda says, it was crushed by stones and abundantly watered with water so that the juice flowed strongly. .The juice was poured into the fire (the matrix = the hearth) as an offering to the gods.

5 – The juice was pressed and sprinkled with water by the priests. The cows (which symbolize Light, because they were the symbol of material, and therefore spiritual, wealth) were satisfied with the juice.

6 – They stimulated the sweetness of the juice, mixed with milk, so that the priests and the sacrificing couple (the master of the house and his wife), felt a strong spiritual energy to achieve immortality (spiritual of course).
